Spring??? where is it???  I feel like I have been hibernating in a cave this year.  Time to craw out and get some dolls made.  Last week such nice weather, lets face it anything above freezing and not snowing seems nice right now.  That ole weather forecaster is saying sleet and snow with highs in the low forties for the rest of the week and weekend.  When will it stop???

I thought I would get a lot of sewing down over the winter, but could not get that spark going.  I did buy some new patterns to read over and maybe get some ideas.  I also purchased Genesis paints to try.  I am anxious to try them on the doll faces.

Things are starting to perk up at least.  Whats everyone else up to?

Quilting The "Thread" of Life

In August one of my oldest and best friends Marcia wrote to The American Quilters Magazine Editor and Chief Christine Brown about  friendships for over 46 years that has come full circle again through quilting.  Marcia, Ruth and my friendship has interwoven through out our lives for long time.  Now in our middle 60's we are back together again making quilts.  This article is about one we made a few years ago.  It is wonderful how life twists and turns and amazing that we are still close friends after all these years, still active, using our creativity and sharing with others.  August 2010 blog.

Last veggies of the Garden

Oh my gosh, picking the last of the garden today. Chance of snow flakes by the end of the week. Got a ton of peppers. I did not know there were so many left. Have a few winter squash to pick too. Time of the comfort food again. Chili or maybe stuffed peppers will be on the menu this week for sure.

Sarah's Bride doll

Sarah sent me a picture of the whole bride doll so I could post it.  Now you can see the whole doll.  The pattern used was by Kate Erbach.

Old pictures

When going through my pictures for the Owls, I found a head picture for a bride doll I did last April for a good friend that was getting married and loves dolls.  I also had a picture of the bouquet I made out of buttons.  Unfortunately, for some reason I did not take one of the whole doll.  Duh!  My brain was must not have been working well that day.  Sarah had given me the idea of the bouquet when she was talking about finding the bouquets on etsy for brides, and how she fell in love with them.

Owl swap with Finnie

I found a box at my door on Friday.  Two cute owls jumped out when I opened it at brought me an Owl hand towel.  They were from Finnie, from Kentucky, as part of a fall swap from my group "All Things Primitive".  I sat them on my couch and when the sun warmed them the whole room smelled of vanilla.  The towel now resides in my kitchen as part of my fall decorations.

Finally got to go shopping for my supplies for the Pumpkin Coach Class.  I will get to start carving and painting today.  Everyone else is far ahead of me.  I need to catch up.
